As the Victorious sat outside the Paulson Nebula with the fighters inside performing recon, Max was busy coordinating with the Science department on sorting through the scans coming in from their sensors.
As he was about to perform another sweep of the nebula, one of the fighter pairs picked up antimatter explosions and relayed the sensor sweep.
"Captain, Flight 3 is picking up antimatter explosions inside the nebula. Definitely photon torpedo explosions. Based on the sensor data they are 21.4 isoton explosions. Definitely short range. I'm sending the coordinates to Lieutenant Merrick and I've ordered the fighters to hold their positions until we can get there and support them.
"Take us in Merrick. Warp 1."
Max powered up the phaser and torpedo systems as the Victorious came about and headed into the nebula.
